Stuffs for the edge pro from ken Schwartz and some of his famous polycrystalline diamond sprays for strops :)

Shapton pro stones 120-30,000 grit
Atoma plates from 140-1200 grit

Sprays from 60,000 - 640,000 grit (JNS)

Nanocloth strops mounted on glass. (3x11)

First impressions... Woooooow. Cant wait to get some more experience and get better. Been away for work for a couple weeks and came home to this :)
Ken Schwartz is the man.

When ken gets home later this week we are gonna start discussing my next order. Gonna get a full range of CBN sprays (for customer / friend knives so I am not using expensive Polycrystalline diamond all the time) and a full range of Diamond films (so I can sharpen ceramics)

Put a 30 inclusive angle on a CS grivory paradox (hollow ground) using the atoma plates , then worked it over with the 1k shapton stones through a full progression all the way to 30k. Then stropped from 60k all the way to 640k. All I can say is wow , just wow.

My technique needs some refinement but its a blast.

Awesome. Have fun. That's where I got my shapton glass stones. I've been meaning to place another order.

You get your stuff direct from ken?
Which GS stones you have?
How do you like them?

No, i buy off the site. I have all the shapton glass except the 2k(out of stock), the 6K (seems a bit useless), and the 30k (out of stock). Just waiting for the 2k and 30k to be restocked. I really like the very buttery smooth feedback. I have been looking into some strops for my EP. how do you like the nanocloth ones? The website was turned my $650 edge pro purchase into well over a grand, and still not done. I think I'm going to get the 1/2 inch stones as well.

I have been hanging out on the Razor subforum and just saw this. Here are some goodies I have made for my EP that may work for you:

Angle cube!:

Tgo, i actually read your thread when you first posted it, but I'll have to read through the newer posts. I also have the angle cube. Do you use it to determine the angle of the spine to the edge on a straight?

I put a piece of painter's tape on the spine then take the measurement with the angle cube for my records.

Hehe , I get my stuff direct from ken himself. That's why I only bought the base model EP Pro , I knew I was going to be getting this stuff down the road so I saved that money and put it towards this stuff. So far I am very very impressed with the nanocloth. It itself has no direct affect on the edge. Moreso it just presents the abrasive to the blade without having so much give that you just round off your tip. Only played with this for 2 days and im already well beyond whittling hairs.

With the nanocloth I recommend kens Monocrystalline , Polycrystalline or Cubic Boron Nitride sprays and emulsions.

How do you find the GS stones for loading. Certain stones (the 2k comes to mind) and the higher grits (15k and 30k) seem to load fairly easy , not sure if its technique or what. Gonna give em some time to see if they break in a bit.

I don't really recommend using the EP for stropping. Its almost too precise and can tend to flip the burr over and over without really removing it. I was going to get an angle cube but ken was all out so next order ill get one.

With the nanocloth I would get the 3x8 as opposed to the 3x11 that I got. The 3x11 is too big to fit in a Ziploc freezer bag and that extra length doesn't really do anything for me.

Oddly enough, the strop setup I am using works fantastic on the razors. The level of refinement that the razor's edge does not have a burr to move over. I strop on the edge pro and on glossy paper.

I'll keep a close eye on what the edge does when I do strop with the Edge Pro.
