saw his new freereign fixed blade and sheath. nylon inside with no glass for dulling.

supposedly a strong retainage from reviews I read. has a fiberglass reinforced frame for strength and support. whole thing can be taken apart and cleaned so no more blade scratches from imbedded sand and debris.

pretty cool idear.......yeah I know this isnt cold steel topic...but figured some here like Demkos idear and if haven't read about this yet...
no harm in posting......

its pricey for what it is though. no old cold steel proper affordable pricing happening......

in aus10 steel read something about maybe a d2 version coming out.

I like the sheath concept, but the knife itself doesn't do much for me. Hopefully he'll come out with some other models.

8:10 is when they start talking about the Freereign. They're also making a Magnacut version.

Thia is my most anticipated blade of 2022. Actually might get an AUS10 instead of Magnacut...AUS10 is a great steel.

I think $150 is a fair price. Demko Knives is still a relatively small company and they can't pull the numbers CS did, yet.

It seems like a clever design. But it sure does complicate, enlarge, and make costlier the whole sheath package. I'm not sure I understand how this makes things better, even if it does avoid the dulling issue.

im assuming its injection molding or something similar........costs come down like the secure ex over time as more volume pays off the molds.........

You can put your filthy knife back in its sheath without a worry...take it apart and clean out all the gunk.
Pretty cool if you use it for hunting.

Thanks for posting this. Nice looking kit overall. If this was in CPM-3V and priced at around 150 bucks I'd be all over it.

To be completely honest with myself though, I am kinda over thick knives in the 3 to 6 inch range.

Give me something thin with edge stability.

maybe Demko designed it thicker so that guy with the gas mask on youtube can't break it as easy by pounding it in a log and pulling with all his weight..........

ya I agree the thick stock isnt as appealing for slicing tasks and just normal cutting chores.......

Looks like a nice design, although a bit thick.

Will probably sell well I imagine.
