Yep, sent off the registration and paid for the airline tickets, so I'll be doing the Spirit of Steel Knife Show in Mesquite, Texas - a suburb of Dallas, on Sept 28, 29 and 30.

This will be the first show I've attended in the USA - and in my hometown, too - so I'm excited. It looks like they have a good crop of makers lined up already, so I hope a lot of Forumites will come round and say hello. More information about the show is available under: http://www.jbrucevoyles.com/knife.htm

Now if I can just get some more knives finished before the plane leaves the ground... I know the airlines have rules about carrying knives on board airplanes, but does anybody know if it's ok to MAKE knives onboard an airplane? I mean, in case I don't get things finished in time, maybe I could wheel my grinder onto the plane? "Coffee, tea or D2?"

Glad you're coming over. The more the merrier for those of us stuck in the knife Hell that is Dallas. While I have no personal stake in this show, I will not drive to Florida or north florida (Georgia) for a show and am looking forward to a major show within a reasonable distance of home. Heck even the Arkansas show is 6 hours away.

To anyone else thinking of coming... COME ON DOWN,OR OVER,OR UP....

Glad to hear you're coming over, Kevin. I'm sure you'll have family/friends to consume any free time you might have, but my offer still stands to re-acquaint you with real Mexican food if you get a chance.

I'm so looking forword to this show,My first all knife show and it is in my hometown as well, Kevin are you a Skeeter or Stallion?

Sorry for the delay, but I've working like crazy.

K.Robinson: I don't think I'm a either a Skeeter or a Stallion ( I think I know what you mean :-) ) I went to Highschool in Dallas ( Skyline ), grad. in '76 .

Got the plane tickets today in the mail. My girlfriend is coming too. It should be fun explaining the rodeo to her. "Ah, well I'm not sure why those men are chasing those steers. It's just what they do for a living. Or something."

I'm looking forward to meeting as many Net-Folks as possible at the show. Plus getting to see a lot of knives from makers I've only seen in photos.

Kevin, glad to hear you are going to make the show. I emailed you recently about one of your knives I bought on the forum. Sure hope we get a break in the weather before the show. It's been awfully hot and dry. See you at the show.

Jim

Looking forward to meeting all of you.
