Looks like it going to be a Dozier kind of Christmas

I have finally put my quandary to rest. I had 5 knives I was trying to decide between, and then up popped this Dozier large Folding Hunter, in all titanium w/thick liner lock inlaid. I've been looking at Dozier folders for some time now, but they seem to sell so fast I was never able to get one. Not so for this one, because I GOT it!:thumbup::)

Not only that, but I was looking at another site that had several Doziers and my eye fell upon a Dozier KM-20 Boot Knife. This thing is just beautiful! Top side grind is thinned but not sharpened, and can be sent to the Dozier shop and sharpened. Before I knew what I was doing I had pushed the "Buy" button.;):)

So when I say a Dozier kind of Christmas, you know what I mean.

The photo's come from EBossHoss for the folder, and from Vintage Knives on the Boot Knife;

I've never had a Dozier folder, but really love his fixed blades. I've carried an Arkansas Traveler more than any other fixed blade this past year.
I bought a Kenny Rowe sheath at Blade to go along with the great kydex that Bob provides.

Congrats on your Dozier Christmas:thumbup:

I've never seen those titanium ones before, dead sexy. I really like the Phat Bob I have and one of those above looks like the same blade. Nice one.

Thanks Ken.

WTF, I saw one of the ti models about 6 months ago, but until last Saturday, I had not seen another. The Phat Bob is a knife I keep meaning to buy, but haven't done so yet. I did email Kbar about the purchase of a Phat Bob pocket clip, because they appear to have the same hole distance. The clip on the ti FH and the PB both look like they can be turned into a foldover clip with little trouble. Kbar is sending me one and I'll use it as the foldover and keep the original ti clip original. I've really had good luck doing this.

That folder looks really nice. Should be a great Christmas indeed.

Well I have been a good boy this year and thought that this would show me how good I had been!;):D Or at least something like that.:)

I picked up a large titanium folder last week aswell. Fort Henry had about three up. I love it. I almost picked up the boot knife you own too. Looks like we have the same taste. Congratulations on a very Dozier Christmas indeed!

Not to be too much of a Dozier nerd but the Phat Bob is modeled after Mr. Doziers Pro Skinner folder. It has more belly to it and a slightly shorter blade. I own both the Pro Skinner and a couple Phat Bobs, and enjoy em equally.

I know, was REALLY important that I point that out:rolleyes:

Thanks RiverRat! Really looking forward to the folder, and Boot Knife.

BUT, it is now a Definate Dozier Christmas as I just bought a KS7 Wilderness knife!!:thumbup::) I love that blade grind and the thicker blade (.200") it has. Now I'll my son choose which one he wants!

Haha my oh my, turning into a large haul for you this Christmas! Congrats on a very nice Dozier.

On a related note I just received an Arkansas Toothpick in red micarta yesterday. Merry Christmas to us both!

Amen Brother! But a little fly in the ointment. The deal fell through on the Folding Hunter:(:( But I still have both fixed blades coming and the KS7 should arrive tomorrow, as well the KM20 may also show up. The KM20 was sent Priority USPS, which is 2-3 days, and it went out on Saturday. The KS7 I had sent using Express USPS, which is guaranteed
for delivery tomorrow.

But not to fret over the FH, I turned to John W. Smith and have a second SD-3 arriving tomorrow!! I got my first this time, to the day, last year. It has S30V and black G-10, along with being tip down carry. The new one will have S35VN and Lightning Strike carbon fiber, and tip up carry. The pocket clip on the one I got last year let about a 1/2 inch of bolster to stick out of the pocket, so with my little torch, two pairs of pliers, and a cup of water, I turned it into a foldover, deep-carry clip that lets the bolster sink down into the pocket with nothing showing. The new one will allow about 3/4" of handle to stick up out of the pocket, but with it's design, two inline holes, and a wide ti clip, it is just begging to be turned into a foldover, deep-carry clip, and will get it's wish tomorrow.

So things are really ok. Even if I didn't end up with the Dozier folder, I did end up with one fine folder, and a 4.50" blade of S35VN....i like those large knives. So I guess you could say it is a Dozier/Smith kind of Christmas!!:)

Im sorry to hear the Dozier folder deal fell through. But it sounds like you bounced back quick!

I mostly carry folders or small fixed blades which means those are what I buy. I did have a Pro Guide at one point. But everybody needs a big knife so awhile back I ordered a Dozier Bowie from the shop. Nice 8 inch D2 blade on that sucker:thumbup:

Looks like it's going to be a Dozier kind of Christmas for me too. I just purchased my first Dozier knife . . . a KM-5 Bodyguard with Black Micarta handles. It arrived yesterday but I haven't seen it yet. My wife giftwrapped it and put it under the Christmas tree before I could get my hands on it. And you're right, cutter17. T.K.C. certainly has some sweet knives!
