Looks to be a great weekend

MY day job's been a real bear lately and there's been a lot of extra stress and nearly no time in the shop. Besides no time, both of my KMGs have been down as I tried to figure out the best way to reconfigure the drives after my VFD blew up.

I got my VFDs in this week so given a bit of shop time I can bring the grinders back to life and get back to trying to grind some blades. By a very strange set of coincidences my wife was contacted by a long lost half sister a couple weeks ago and they arranged to meet up in Monterey where her sister is attending some sort of conference. That happens to be this weekend! I didn't realize until she left this morning that I have the parts to fix my grinders, and my wife will be gone until Sunday night, so I can spend as much time as I want in the shop, guilt free! MY wife rarely gives me crap about spending time in the shop anyway, but being married and all, I do feel obligated to pay attention to her on the weekends, but this weekend, it's as much shop time as I want. To make it even better, the VFDs need mounts made, so I have good reason to play on the mill and I already have all the material I need

There's even a parking lot sale at Reliable Tools tomorrow morning if I feel like getting up early and heading over there (hour drive).

I even rented Jarhead and intend to watch it at high volume and give the surround system a real workout

I love my wife, but I could really use a weekend alone with my tools for a change. It don't get much better than this

I'm envious. I just had my new evenheat oven delivered yesterday. Managed to get it set up before bed, and I have 6 blades ready for heat treat, and I want to go go go, but my father-in-law is coming to visit for the weekend (be here in a few hours), so I'm not going to get to play until next week.
