gots myself a new anvil and I feel like a proud papa. She's a 170 pounder, and I can't wait to fire up the forge and pound something on it.

Just thought I'd show her off. :D

Wow, Michael, nice find. it looks to be in near perfect condition.

What markings does it have, or what do you know about it besides the weight?

I took a gander at it and couldn't find a single marking. I got from a very reliable source for dirt cheap, so I can't complain. :D

It looks like its never been used. Must have been somebody front yard decoration. If you take some sand paper and hit the vertical front and back and around the bottom edge you should be able to find some marking. Hope you got a good deal on it, sure looks like a goodone.....

Nice find, Mike! Hey you going to shot-peen that? maybe some really light glass-beading would bring up a mark? That thing looks like its in sweet shape like it was never used.

Nice anvil, ya lucky bastid. Now, hurry up and hammer out me a blade or three! :p

Very nice.....so how cheap is dirt these days? Maybe you beat the deal that I got on my 152# Hay Budden. I'll tell you mine, if you tell me yours...:D

Great looking anvil. Post another pic after you have had a good work out on it. A good bit of hot work on the top will get the colour back into the surface.

I keep my main working anvil out side in the weather, I paint it with linseed oil and it does not rust, so long as I don't go tool long between working and re oiling.

Great find, I would love to have that in my collection.

Hey Mike that thing is just too rusted for you too use
you ship it here to get rid of it..:) you got steel
on the UPS truck :)

Thats really great, mike, I'm happy for you. It looks like a beauty, or maybe a beast, anyway it looks like a serious anvil.
