Our own Walt Davis just sent me pics of this...its a knife I drew up for him, and he made it happen! Man, its awesome! I cant wait to chop with this beast!

IIRC, the blade should be close to 10" and around 1/4" thick...Walt might chime in, I dont have it in hand yet, and I would have to look around for the drawing, but I think thats right. I am not sure about the steel, I think 5160...but 1095 would be great to...Its gonna be a fun chopper.
I dont wanna say what I paid, thats a question for my good friend Walt.

Walts calling it the "Persion Redux" I think, I tried to use some of Walts original "Persion" lines, in the design, mostly I shortened the choil and tweaked the handle...I wanted something like a machete or saber handle, to allow for heavy blows, and the round butt is to make it comphy to drill with and generally help with the hot spots.

Actually, Walt might still have the drawings in his computer...my old computer died a few weeks ago, so I dont have the scans anymore. I cant seem to find the original drawing...its probubly around here somewhere...but my 3 year old and 1 year old dont let much survive:D

That does look awesome man. Congratulations and give us a review when it comes in.

That thing looks cool! I too am curious to read what you have to say about it after you put it through its paces. It looks to have a nice forward balance. Kudos to both of you on a weel executed piece.

HECK YEAH!!!!! NICE KNIFE :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks, all:D She's 1/4" 5160, about 15 1/4" overall, a little over 10" in the blade:thumbup: I tried to stay as close to Gene's drawings as I could within the limits of my 2" wide stock, so it doesn't have quite the curves but it's still pretty fun in hand:p

TF, that's fine, you can do the leather for the one I make myself;)

ETA: I guess I should mention that it's not quite done;) Still need to clean up the handles and the plunge lines a bit, put my mark on it and sharpen 'er up.
