Loose Benchmade pocket clip - fix?

Well, after many years the pocket clip on my BM710 no longer holds the knife securely in my pocket. There's a good 1/8 inch of space between the curve in the clip (that usually makes contact with the knife handle) and the g-10 scale. If I take the clip off, what's the best way to bend it back into shape? I tried a search, but got an error, so I don't know if this has been previously discussed.

WadeF, what I do with mine (metal clips) is don't take it off, just put something like the round part of a screwdriver that will raise the clip up off the handle about 1/4 to 3/8 inch about mid way under the clip. Then just pust down on the very end of the clip and that usually will bend it just enought to tighten it back up.

* If you take off a clip (they are usually hardened) and try to bend it more than discribed, IT WILL BREAK. I say this as a warning for I have personally ruined many clips.

*hope this helps and see what others say too. * I suggest the round part of the screwdriver as not to damage your handle material.

I have to do this every once in a while with the pocket clips on my BM balisongs (they seem to like to snag on things).

Grab a pair of pliars, and some thick cloth like canvas (I actually use an old piece of shoe leather). Fold the cloth around the area you want to grip, and bend the clip back in place (remove the clip first). Bend it enough so that there's a bit of overtension that keeps the clip tight against the knife.
