I have been carrying an Old timer 340t some lately and one of the bolsters is loose. Can I just superglue it or is there another easy way to fix? Sorry about the lousy cell phone photo.

Mods, if this needs to be in Maintance and tinkering please move but I figured one of these guys would have a quick easy answer.

Thanks Don

This might get a little more traction in "Maintenance, Tinkering & Embellishment". Let's try moving it there.

Help? being the Swindon key design I am thinking if careful I can just glue it but want to be sure.

Clean both surfaces, scuff with some 320 sandpaper, clean with acetone and use a good two part epoxy. Mix up more than you need and use as little as possible to avoid "bleeding" thru the middle liner and gluing the spring and blade on the opposite side. Clamp it good and let cure per instructions.

Pre 2004. The bolster is still attached at the end. The liner(?) that the bolster is attached to and the pin goes through is fine. There is no blade play. I an thinking just superglue it but wanted to be sure.

If you pull it of, would you mind taking a few pics? I'm curious what precisely is going on in there

Have pulled it off and glued it seems to be holding well. Sorry W.M.B. I did not see your post and get pictures. The bolster on my knife was held into place by two nibs that appear to cast into the bolster itself and peened into the brass liner. one had come loose the other held. Popped free pretty easy and I glued it. Thanks everyone for all the help.

Super glue should work, but I agree with markesharp two party epoxy, like jb weld would be s perminant fix, and you wouldn't have to worry about every again! I have a couple of pre 2004 old timers as well 340t! My favorite carry knife!
