The clip on my emerson is not as tight fitting as before. There is a small gap between the handle and clip which makes for a loose fit in the pocket.

What can I do to make it tighter, should I bend it back into shape?

If the clip is attached with a screw:

Unscrew it, take it off, and carefully bend it slightly.

Reassemble, and profit.

I had this happen with my CQC-8, i took the clip off and wrapped it in a rag(the prevent scratching, them took some big pliers, and clamped them on the flat part of the clip, the part where the screws are, and them just pushed the clip down while holding the back with the pliers. This will make it where the back isnt even with the handle, so when it is screwd down, more pressure is applied, making it tighter.. Be care not to over tighten it, it doesnt take too much to get it where it need to be, hope this helped! :D

its fairly common, you must have caught the clip on something and tweaked it.

In stead of bending the area with the screws try to slightly arch the entire clip near the middle of the flat as that is the most likely place that an emerson clip will bend.

Yep, must have gotten caught on something. No big deal, happens all the time. Just take it off and bend it back.
