Loose clips sink ships

I have a NiB sebenza that I've been EDCing for about 1-2 months.

I use it lightly, but have noticed that the pocket clip/screw becomes progressively looser as time passes. This leads to a not so tight clip that has lateral play. I have to invariably tighten the screw at least once a week. It's gotten so bad that I've abandoned the clip for a pocket pouch carry.

Anyone else run into this problem? Any suggesstions?

Greetings jfn: The clip screw threads should seat firmly in the Titanium frame. The stainless screw threads are prone to "gall" the softer Titanium which usually keeps them from backing out. If the threading on either the clip screw or in the frame have gotten grease or oil on them the frequent clipping unclipping can cause the screw to slowly work loose. Cleaning both the male and female threads with a good degreaser and firmly tightening (Do Not Gorilla It) with the included wrench should do it. OldDude1

It happened fairly regularly on my Sm Reg, so I just put a dab of Locktite on the threads.

And that is how I do it as well. I think it only happens with my newer sebs, my older (Bg-42) models don't seem to have that happen.

I have carried various sebenzas and never had it happen, though I can see it happening. Some loctite will fix the issue easily.

Because it is less messy, I have started to use the white plumbers tape on the threads of the small screws on my folders. Seems to do a good job.

This was another fine idea I picked up from the Bladeforums, can't exactly remember who first recommended it.

It seems that on my newer sebenzas, the machined cut out that the clip rests in is larger than on my older sebenzas and thus allows the clips to have play in the cut out. My older sebenzas were tight with and had no play. This was probably done so that the clip is easier to remove. However, the play in the clip may be loosening your screw. I would contact CRK and ask them about it. They may be able to find a clip with a larger head to fit more snugly into your machined cut out.

Just curious, which type of Loctite do you use? We use the 242 (blue) and 270 (green) in the workshop, but take great care which one to use on which parts. The green stuff is MUCH more glue-like and will leave permanent residue into the titanium whenever removed again. I'd suggest using the blue stuff here.
