just received an 11" stiletto with a loose front bolster.Other than that, knife is perfect.Bolster is loose only when knife is closed. Any suggestions on how I can tighten it up?

You may need to give more information about your knife (i.e. Maker, Construction, etc.). I could make a guess but it would be just that.

It's nothing special, somethimg I picked up on BA for thirty dollars. Tang is marked Italy and under that INOX. It is in perfect shape except for the loose bolster. Can I try peening on the rivet with a light hammer?

by the way,I checked out your site;you have some magnificent knives. One of my goals is to one day to be able to acquire a work of art such as you produce.

I still can't picture it well enough to give good advice, but here are some thoughts. Is it an automatic with a coil spring? If its only loose in the closed position I'm wondering if the spring tension is pushing up on the bolster. Or is it a lock back where the lock is holding the frame more rigid in the open position. You can try peening it but this is a tricky procedure. Its hard to peen a pin that doesn't extend past the bolster and its easy to freeze the blade with too much peening. It takes thin pieces of shim stock between the blade and inside frame to avoid over peening. Can you post a picture or scan of the knife?
