Loose liner lock solutions?

So, I know that on my Zing blem, the lock is perfectly fine for what I would normally throw at it (light EDC chores). But I did notice that if I provide enough pressure (not whacking) that I can disengage it. The liner is in full contact with the tang, though it is just so (right on the edge). I know that the preference is for early lockup but in my mind that just gives the lock less space to go before it leaves the locking position. I was wondering what you guys have experienced or have observed is the cause for liners to "fail". Would shaving a layer off the tang or liner to move the lock closer to the middle help? This is more of an academic question; I'm not going to start spine whacking or batoning or anything.

Sounds like it just needs more time to break in.

Make sure the contact area is free of oil. That has been the cause on some of my liner locks slipping.

You can bend the lock in to tighten or out to loosen a little, but if there's now blade play, there is no need.

I don't know what could be causing that. If I understand what you're talking about, my Skylines are the same and I haven't had any issues with them.

Thanks for your thoughts guys. I've had it for a while now so I don't think it needs to break in much. I'll probably not worry about it for now. If it ever decides to slip and bite me (doubtful) then I'll attribute it to bad luck and something that it wasn't intended for. Of course, it is a blem, so experimenting with it wouldn't be much of a loss

Annaso - From the failures you are experiencing, I would strongly encourage you to send the knife in for warranty repair.

IT came out great, I damaged the lock by being a noob and doing a spine wack on the side of a table. I could make the lock fail by hand. So I took it apart filed the damaged lockface. When I put it all back together, it locks up about 50% instead of 25 and feels very sturdy.

Filling is a pretty slow process to begin with, just take a little off.

Thanks jimmer but it's a blem, so I'm on my own for this one. It hasn't been a problem with light use but I would like the added peace of mind.
