Loose Pivot on Strider SMG

Looking for a quick easy way to tighten it up. Any suggestions or easy home made tools for this?

I never had to adjust my SMF, but I did tighten my SnG.

I didn't need anything special, first I put a few drops of penetrating oil on the threads ( the spanner side). I let it sit for a few hours, then I used a hex driver on the opposite side. The hex side turned without spinning the entire pivot. I only turned it a fraction. Some here say you can heat the pivot first with a soldering iron, but I didn't want to do that, I tend to destroy things.

I just use a hex on one side, and my fingernail on the other... If you need to tighten it more than you can get it with that system, something is wrong with the knife.

You can always make one.

I bought a Park Tool cnw-2 Chainring Nut Wrench and filed the center post to make it fit the strider pivot. Works great.

I might be wrong, but I think this might be a Federal Offense. But it will give the NSA something else to store in their new data storage facility.

I wonder why somebody does not make a replacement pivot for Strider knives? I bet of they had the machines and could do them in Titanium and anodized different colors they would do well.

So what do you use to cut a small dime in pieces like that? I would think you need a tool to make a tool.

Sheesh!.................. I wish Strider, Hinderer would just listen to their customers and make a pivot like Emerson uses. That you could open with a regular stock dime and not have to get a lazer to cut it in pieces.

PSD spanner tool. Right tool for the job. Worth it for a $400+ knife. I keep mine on my keychain.
