Loose pivot on Strider SNG

I received a Strider SNG today, upon inspection the pivot was loose, should I mess with it or send it back? I've heard the pivot can be a nightmare on these. When I say loose , I mean screwed out and I could snug it down with my fingers.

Thanks for your help.

Mess with it. You are better off knowing the quirks of your SNG. I have had one SMF that had a very loose pivot that would even spin after tightened.
Use a tiny bit of thread lock and tighten it up.
It should be fine.

Striders have a floating pivot system. The pivot on all my Striders will move/rotate though they are tight. You can put a small drop of locktite or Teflon tape on the screw and tighten it back up. If you bought it used, some folks keep the pivots loose so it can be flicked open. I personally don't deploy blades like that unless it is a flipper.
So, yes tighten it up, if it keeps coming loose, put some type of thread lock on the screw

Thanks, i really like the knife and don't want to deal with sending it back. I pulled the pivot screw out, dropped some loctite on it and then snugged it until it was where I liked it, not a flicker just a little tight so it will break in some. It didn't take much to get it there, just a little past hand tight, does that sound right?

Adjusting a pivot is more of an art than a science. You want to adjust the pivot so that there is no blade play, but still be easy to open.
