It seems like there's always someone posting about having a loose pivot screw. I personally haven't had the problem but did notice the following during take-down of one of mine.
First, actually remove the screw and take a q-tip, them 'thread' it into the female half. Now take the screw half and 'screw' it into a cloth/cleaning patch.
Now, reassemble, and see if it still happens.
Why??
Well, I noticed on mine, that some of the factory grease/oil had made it's way into the pivot assembly. There's no doubt that it could accelerate loosening.
So just check on this first, prior to looking for the whys, whats, and how comes.
