Loose sheath?

Is it common for a sheath to fit the knife fairly loosely? My RC4 arrived and while retention was okay, the knife would fall out if it was jostled upside down at all.

I moved the chicago screw from the spine of the sheath to the edge side and adjusted it to where I want it. It did the job just fine. Just wondering if the sheaths are normally loose or not?

As the included instructions state, you have to move the screw in order to adjust tension. If you do not have a screw in the edge side of the blade the sheath will be too loose. We ship the screw in the spine hole since most people add MOLLE locks or a MOLLE back to the sheath and once they are installed the sheath will tighten from the screw that holds the retention device on. Also, as the instruction state, do not carry the knife inverted unless you are using a MOLLE back. Even though some folks do it, we do not guarantee security carrying upside down without the Velcro retention strap and pommel cover in place. MOLLE backs are optional but they are the same back as comes with the RC-3.

Yep, I assume your not using the MOLLE clips, just like me?

As you can see, I moved the screw over to achieve proper tension with out them.

I am almost positve the page that came with it is only one sided. I will double check tonight but I'll be honest, I rarely read directions. :)

No worries. Moving the Chicago screw worked great. Thanks for the info.

You may have gotten the older instruction sheet that did not have the back side printed. But since you're just like me and don't read directions, it wouldn't have mattered :D
