New Spyderco owner here. The clip is loose & not as tight - 1/4 inch space...how can I close this up?

Unless there is some magic step I'm missing (chime in here, people who actually have wire clips), all you need to do is take the clip off and bend it back to how you want it. Over time, clips get bent from being drawn out of the pocket, especially if you pull the knife away from your body as you're drawing it. If you try to draw the knife completely vertically it should eliminate this issue in the future. Wire clips are prone to snagging too, so be careful!

I just tightened the clip on my dragonfly the other day. Put some saran wrap or other thin plastic material on the head of a T9 bit and remove the screw/s. You may need 2 T9 bits, but I did fine with just one. I made sure to slide the clip down into the channel so it can't move. Put a small bit of loc-tite on the threads with a toothpick and tighten, but don't go too hard. Note: the screw head thickness is slightly different on each screw. Make sure to put the smaller one on the clip side so you have more clearance under the clip when using it. Hope that helps.

I was under the impression that the thick head should go on the clip side to avoid breaking the screw (?). I may be wrong. That's the way I put it back together after bending back the clip with a pair of pliers after it had gotten bent out of shape when it snagged on the armrest of a chair.
