Does anyone know how to loosen up the hold on a buck 110 to get the blade to fall out with just a flick of the wrist? its a great knife, but having to use two hands to open it is a pain. I have tried holding metal piece that engages the lock on the blade back to bend it, but it only barely loosened the blade and sufficiently added to blade play in the locked position. any ideas??

I would just buy a different knife. I think you will only damage it by messing with it. If you do get it to open easier then the lock won't work the way it is meant to. Is it really that hard to use both hands?

Too late he already damaged it. Try holding the blade and flicking the handle out

1. Buy a new 110, that one's toast now....

2. Get yourself a small tube of graphite (the dry stuff) and work some into the pivot area (it's going to be messy for a bit)

3. Open and close the knife about a bazillion times to free it up, adding graphite every so often.

4. Repeat after me; "I will NOT bend the lockbar on a Buck 110, I will NOT bend the lockbar of a Buck 110....:D

The lock arm is not what gives lockbacks their springiness. There's a separate bar under it that provides the tension; think of it like a mini-diving board. While it's possible to open it one handed by pushing your thumb against the blade and just rolling it open, if you want a fast opener then a linerlock with thumbstuds may be in order.

You can buy a thumb stud that attaches to the blade with a set screw.
