loosening up a 5.11 Journeyman karambit

The one I have has a really solid lockback and after reading some other user feedback on the net, I realize that it being rather stiff to open is actually quite common to this model. I tried loosing the torx screw at the pivot point but it won't budge. Before I escalate this further and maybe ruin the knife, is there any way to loosing up a 5.11 Journeyman karambit, to allow it to be opened easier and faster? I already waved it with zipties but I still want to loosen it up a bit.
