My Spydie Centofante4 came from the factory with an unusually stiff action. Stiffest I've seen, actually. I worked it a whole lot, including one session with a little strop paste in there, but it's still remarkably stiff. I'm looking for recommendations on safe and un-stupid ways to loosen it up a little.

Nah--it's still very stiff even when you depress the backspring. The inside sides of the FRN are just clamping down on the blade a little too hard.

Then you can try flexing the blade to introduce a little more play.
Or, lightly tap one side of the rivet once with a very small hammer. A tack hammer will work, but is really still too big. Try the blade. Wiggle it a little. If it isn't loose enough, tap the other side once. Hold the knife solidly in your hand while tapping. Alternate sides until the blade is satisfactory.
