I am almost finished with my Pay It Forward Knife that Lorien (Another BF Member) organized Thread found here: CLICKY I am looking for some input.

I decided to make one full tang and one hidden tang. I am only going to donate the proceeds from one (The Best One) to a charity of my choice. The purpose of this thread is get help deciding which one to use for the PIF. I still have some clean up work to do and sheaths to make but wanted to get input ASAP.

HIDDEN TANG:

A charity I am considering is a local Boy Scout, he belongs to a single mother he has no backpack, sleeping bag, sleeping pad etc... He borrowed a pack from my son on this past weekend for a local over nighter. They have 5 outings planned this summer the next one is a week long camp in June. I would love to be able to take the proceeds and purchase gear for him.

** Even if you don't want to make a comment below, feel free to vote for your choice!

Thanks for looking
Ryan

Both are beautiful. My vote goes to the full tang design for it's strength and aesthetic nature.

Hidden tang... I'm a sucka for natural wood grain. Gorgeeeeeeeeeous blades, my friend.

Ryan, those are both awesome buddy!!! Very nice work.

My vote for the PIF goes to the full tang. It's more up my alley and I think the bolster looks great! Should fetch some good funds for the boy scout. Very cool of you.

Thanks everyone for the great comments. Looks like the full tang is in the lead, Rick I love natural wood on a knife as well, I still need to clean up the hidden tang a bit!

that full tang knife has real flair, it's a very artistic knife. I think you should keep it, and sell the hidden tang version, which should be an easy, quick sell due to its more traditional look- allowing for a quicker PIF. The domino knife I think would look great on your table at the next knife show you attend or better yet on your belt. It's a very unique piece that has instant appeal, and says a lot about your style, (judging from what I've seen from your site) it's in keeping with what you seem to like to do best, if that makes any sense. There is a joy in it.

You did an outstanding job on that design, I am very proud to have had a small part in this.

Lorien thank you for the input, I love your design! It was a real head ache of a grind for me. I reached my monthly curse allowance during this build (and then some:o). I will let this poll decide which knife to use for the PIF. I can always make me another one down the road, with your blessing :D

Full tang! That sounds like a great idea for a charity, I was in Boy Scouts and camping was the best part.

Great job on both knives, they look incredible and you pulled off a really tough design.

Haha... Looks like someone voted for the "Crappy Knife Option" Mr. Marchand?

Looks like it will be the Full Tang. It is going to be on it's way to Kiah for some awesome Kydex or I should say "KiahDex"
