Is sometimes a wonderful thing.

Life has been pretty busy over the past few months, my father had his gallbladder out, my mom had a double mastectomy and all this while planning a wedding...

Finally have had some time to get to our place upstate and take a break from it all. Was shooting my new bow today (Mission Venture) and a wild shot sent one arrow FLYING.

Grabbed a few knives, my cell and decided to go hunt it down despite half a foot of snow on the ground - it was really wonderful to just spend some time in the woods alone...

Here are some pics from my little 45 minute hunt.

Horrible pic - havent hunted it yet, but the Mission Venture is just amazing - cant imagine ever needing more from a bow. Have a QAR rest and HHA sight.

We have a cabin that overlooks a waterfall on our property - the arrow crossed that stream and when into the woods behind.

Walk down the steps to the falls:

Our waterfall - the falls are about 25 feet high - pictures just dont do it justice:

For perspective, here are the falls in the summer - I was putting up lighting on a fallen tree (a storm eventually took down the tree - and my lights ). Its a dream to dunk in during the summer!

The beautiful quiet woods:

A tree came down in the storm - will need to break out the Battle Mistress and chainsaw this summer!

Crossed the stream and about 25 yards further arrow found!!! Must have hit a tree and come down. I was lucky to find it.

And two of my favorite knives (the Squatch is REALLY growing on me - even over my NMSFNO):

Awesome pics, looks cold however! Never heard of that bow, with the short brace hieght and cam design, probably pretty fast, I imagine.

beautiful property you have there.

having one of those relatively nearby would make living in Manhattan even better.

Very beautiful property.
Pretty sweet having a waterfall and pool in your back yard.
Congrats on finding your arrow. The hunt looked pretty peaceful.

looks like a great place to live.

I wonder what the outcome would have been if your Indians had bows like that back in the wild west:)
