How long is 30 days? Hasn't it been 30 days?
Howard said he would return in 30 days. I think 30 days is up. It has to be up. I've seen a lot of horror movies, lots of weekends have passed, Spring is here; where is Howard Wallace?

It's been so long I've forgotten why he left. Wasn't it something like Leonard Cohen's brother going to the desert, to get 'clear'? Well, I'm not clear. That is, I'm fuzzy, but I'm pretty sure 30 friggen days by now have got to be used all up.

When he gets here, I'll be happy. I guess I'd be happier if upon his return, like one who visits the monks, he had a message for those of us carrying the human burden. But I don't expect that. That's too much.

But I do think the 30 days has got to be up.

Throw another marmot on the barbie and look to the door.

I think Leonard Cohen should go to the desert and get clear . L:O:L
I so much like his work by other people .

It has been a while for Howard .
Maybe he is lost in the tranquility of his garden . L:O:L
Thats just my jealousy talking . The only time my garden is tranquil is when the neighbors are not home .

I predict Howards arrival before summer .

Firkin's here! I see his name at the bottom of the page. Good old firkin. That's a good sign. The voice of the turtle is next.

Will he bring us tea and oranges that came all the way from China?

A song..Leonard Cohen...Suzanne...back in the day.

"Suzanne takes you down to her place by the water,
and she feeds you tea and oranges that came all the way from China"

from my sometimes leaky memory...but I remember very clearly the little redhead that introduced me to his music and...um...a few other things ;)

--Mike L.

"And you want to travel with her,
and you want to travel blind
And you think that you can trust her
Cause she's touched your perfect body
with her mind."

--Mike L.
..who was young, idealistic, and open to the great mysteries once

I think that's the song Cohen lost title to; he wrote it but so many did it imediately afterwards, because it was so good, that he never established a copyright. How would you like to write a great song and get no credit?

Even Mike Nesmith of the Monkees did a version of it . I have to admit I like Mr. Cohens work I just don,t get the emotion from him that is evident in his poetry .

Nesmith is alright- the only musician in the monkeys. He wrote, "Joahnn", and for that alone he can have a place at my table.
