I've heard many people express dismay over the loss of the list of signed-on members. And it has been difficult to find a spot to complain, if desired. That's changed. There were three such lists. Finally, they have been consolidated so that you can express your opinion. The link to the consolidated thread is below:

I wonder how accurate the list is. Being that I have a few devices constantly logged into BF, how does the forum software know where I am truly at when I do not even know where I last left off?

I've thought about that as well. Unless I'm using one of the local library's computers for one of Nathan's Friday sales, I use my phone for internet stuffs. At the moment I have 15 different chrome windows active that I can cycle through. I'd say at least half are different BF threads.

I always wondered if it showed me as present on whichever ones I had going, even if some hadn't been active in awhile.

I don't know how it would be with this system; but I believe with vBulletin there was a setting for how long an inactive period was necessary for the system to consider you offline. By the same token, once a person is active, the site can be closed out & the system will still show them until that time period expires.
That is often set for longer than one would think, because people don't like getting timed out while they are reading.

I'll be honest, I didn't really use it much. Only times I think I ever looked at it was before a sale to see roughly how many people were waiting for it to start

My primary purpose in watching it was to gauge how many people were attending a Friday sale to see who I was up against.

I do not think the purpose one uses it is as important however as the fact that it was there and now it is not without an official explanation. It's difficult to make the case the software was an upgrade if it provides less functionality to the paying user.

^ Yes that was primarily the interesting part of it all for me (I was hoping some people would psych themselves out by getting dithery/jittery :D )plus who else was looking at my own once-in-a-while sales threads. I could live without it as that feature did not add any significance to my bottom line in either direction.
