I know this should probably be posted in the “Around the grinder” section but since I can’t post there…………… here it is!
I lost a good friend today he lived four houses down from me and he was a good man. I have known him and his family for the last 15+ years. His kids and mine grew up together.
He was the preacher at one of the local churches. He rode a big Harley Hog with full crash guard and saddle bags. He was on his way to a meeting this morning with some of his fellow riders when a car turned left and struck him, killing him instantly. For all of you that ride please be careful. It’s not you that you have to worry about as much as the other fellow. There are very few second chances on a bike. I use to ride but no more!
Rest in peace friend!

I'm sorry for your loss Dixie. If you need someone to talk to or anything feel free to PM me.

Thanks, his oldest son walked down here and told me this afternoon and it was like someone punched me in the gut. The boy was brave and never once broke down but I damn near did!
I found out he was on one of these streets that has a turning lane with a green lights from both sides but, the turning lane can only turn left from the other side if nothing is coming. My friend was going thru on the street. The lady evidently did not see him coming and turned left onto another street and directly into him, I am not sure if she hit him almost head on, or literaly stuck him in the side. Either way it was at fairly high speed. He never had a chance it happend so fast!
Please if you ride be careful! If you don't, look twice a motorcycle is easy to miss seeing!!

I was looking at one of my bikes earlier today and wishing it was just a little warmer here in MI to go for a ride, maybe I will wait just a little longer. Sorry to hear of another downed brother at the hands of a seemingly stupid accident :(

Thanks and thank you to the powers to be for moving this.
I have to go see his wife and family today. This seems very hard for me to wrap my mind around. Perhaps because we were the same age, perhaps because we have know each other for so long and our kids grew up together, perhaps because I feel it just didn't have to happen!!!!

Thoughts and Prayers ... It is never easy and always hard to have a Friend go

Sad... Sorry to hear of this loss. Rest in Peace Brother.
