I didn’t know Don but he was born only an hour and a half from where I’m from. Small world.

Donald was a proud verteran serving in the Marine Corps, where he became top marksman in his platoon. After he served our country, he learned the craft of locksmith, which was his profession for many years. Don loved adventure, he camped in the mountains, and he learned to dive in the Pacific Ocean. He collected and refurbished guns and knives, while also designing hand-made leather holsters. He traveled with a Buffalo Bill Western Show where all his clothing and guns had to be authentic 1860’s.

this is hard to read. i used to talk and joke with Don on here a lot. was a great guy with a good sense of humor and an eye for revolvers and knives. my condolences to Don's family and close friends. this is terrible news. i'm gonna miss Don (R.I.P.).

Thanks Craig.
I had noticed his absence and hoped he just moved on to other things.
I didn't really know him, yet he seemed likable and knowledgeable.
There's lots of good folks here, and I miss them when they leave.

4 or 5 years ago, he found a ww2 era military pocket knife marked Buck. We couldn’t really figure it out or verify it. He sent it to Joe who had no idea either.

After all avenues were traveled he sent it to me. It fit into my collection and he knew I thought it was neat, even if not verifiable.

He didn’t want anything for it, just sent it to me. He said if I ever figured it out to let him know. I mailed him a check anyway.

Nice guy.
