lost images

Greetings,
I am a relatively new participant.
In my last posting, the images I installed in it were there for a day or two, now they are just small red x's. What happened to my images?

Most likely, the site you're linking them from doesn't allow remote linking, which is what you're trying to do when you post images here. You were able to see them yourself in your post, because instead of downloading the images again from the source website, your browser brought them back from your temporary file cache. So when your browser saw those particular urls in the bladeforums page, it simply brought them up from the temp casche on your computer rather than downloading them off the website again. This is a common feature of web browsers to make things faster.

The best way to check if you're posting images or just red Xs is to make your post with the links, clear your temporary internet file cache (but not the cookies, that'll kick you off the forums), then hit the "Preview Post" button. If you get red Xs, it's probably just better to post a link we can click (or copy+paste) rather than try to imbed the images in your post.
