Well a good news thread about someone lost. & year old kid managed to stay calm and walk to shelter and then eventual rescue.

Found in some sort of military "hut", only four miles from where he was lost. He'd been there since the first night and was just found, almost a week later.

The outcome is thankfully different from the lost AT hiker who starved to death after sitting for 27 days.
The lesson, get somewhere where people are likely to look for you. A creek, a hilltop, an old cabin, etc. Had the Japanese boy simply sat in a random secluded place in the woods, he might not have been found either.

Recent updates indicate that the boy had been left out alone as a "punishment" for bad behavior:confused:

When I was not much older than that and my brother and I would argue in the car, my Dad would make us get out of the car and run behind for awhile. Better than getting spanked.

Ironically, the boy was being punished for throwing rocks at cars...

The first and only time my 15 yr old son told me to get f#&*ed, he ended up walking 6 miles home and still had to mow the lawn that had gotten him pissed off to begin with. He's 28 and still tells his friends about it so I guess it worked.--KV
