This may have been done to death but it's one of those things that I think about once in awhile. If you found yourself lost in the north woods and only had one knife which one would you want it to be and why.
I would want my Grohmann Canadian belt knife with a carbon blade. It's tough enough for any camp task from splitting kindling to cleaning fish. It holds a super edge and re-sharpens quickly.
My second choice is an old Colonial bowie knife my brother gave me back in the seventies, but its getting some wear on it.

What do you all think would be a "best choice".

If this is an issue, first choice should be to not find oneself alone in the north woods. If you are alone in the north woods, take a vehicle with a tank full of gas, a glovebox full of candles and a lighter, a blanket, water, a firearm, lots of lights and batteries, jumper cables, jerky, canned food, mylar blanket, and patience. A good knife would be good too.

North woods? To heck with the knife I want mosquito protection! Give me one of those bug proof netting suits. Also a hammock with mosquito netting so I can rest for a bit between swatting at them.

For the sake of the discussion and allowing the inclusion of an axe,I'll go for the Tops Fieldcraft knife.
