Anyone else see the large regular that was on ebay? i got sniped at the last 10 secs by someone...probably a fellow member here lol. was wondering how rare they are and how frequently you see them up for sale?

They are not partucularly rare as they were a regular production knife for a number of years. They are seen for sale much less often than the Classic/21 because the people that have the Regulars are keeping them.

I seen the large regular and thought about it ( I did not bid ). I personally just love the large regulars. Everyone has their favorites and the large regular is mine. I like the small regular too, but the large just fits my hand better..........I think the handle contours of the regular is more comfortable in hand. I also prefer the blade shape of the regular over the classic/21. I just do not care for the super pointy blade of the 21. The drop point styling of the regular just performs and looks better for me. Also of people complain about the sticky lockbar on the regulars. I have easily had about 15 or so regulars and have never been bothered by it. Take the knife apart, get a pencil and rub the lockbar with the pencil lead. Works like a charm..............

I'll give you an example. My family is used to seeing me play with knives all the time. When I empty my pockets, there is usually a sebenza or another CRK with my wallet, iphone, etc. I have carried my large regular NCIS sebenza and used it many many times in front of them. Last Easter, I had bought a large night sky with absolutely beautiful graphics, mother of pearl inlay, the works. Someone needed something open. You always get the, give it to Tom, he has a knife....lol. Well, I got out my new large 21 and opened it and you would swear I pulled out a gladius and waved it around. They all jumped back and several made a comment saying how sharp, pointy, dagger-like the blade looks. They actually kind of navigated away from me for the rest of the get together. Since then, I have used my large regular in front of them without even the slightest comment. Its not like I wipped it out and flicked it either. I showed them the machining and as soon as I opened the blade, I got that reaction............I was always on the ropes about the 21 blade shape, after that response, my mind had been pretty much made up....I do have a small classic that is well used that I edc and I have a large 21 eyes with silver hardware and double lugs. It doesn't get carried and someday, it will probably be gone too...........I am sure someone out there will chime in and say the complete opposite, but I was just telling what happened to me from a family that knows and sees my knives regularly.

Like HAZE said, most that have regulars keep them. I think thats why you see the market flooded with 21's and classic's over regulars. They were made for years, so there is indeed a ton out there. Heck, 2 beautiful regulars sold on the exchange tonight right here. Everyone has changes in tastes or needs money for something....................You will see a ton more regulars, just be patient. They do pop up often, more often than you think.

I happily buy another 10 Regulars given the chance, I'm just too lazy to hawk the exchange for them....:foot:

I saw it, thought about bidding on it but remembered I have to send out a money order to arizonacustomknives for a beat up large regular on Monday,

What did it end up going for?

i bid 323 with 30 secs left and up to the end it said i was high bidder then when it closed i was no longer the high bidder...guess my internet connection is slow. it went for 328 i think...

That's a pretty good price if it was in half way good condition.

Last night, I saw a small and large Unique Graphic with BG42, I blinked and it was gone. Not on the auction site.

I've done my part in making sure people pay more for a few regular Sebenzas on eBay... :p

Not that one though. Saw it, but picked up a BG42 one a little while ago, and dont have a lot of spare cash just laying around at this moment.

it wasnt in the best shape but thats ok with me cause i use all the knives i own....the only CRK knife i wouldnt use would be an ivory annual and if the 2012 annuals are made I will be carrying the large, not as an EDC but for special occasions. Its always fun to show your knife to other knife enthusiasts and as a conversation piece. If something were to happen I figure that you can always have a CRK refinished if needed....so you might as well use it.

Ditto, I agree 100%

Man, I love the large Regular too. I finally found mine last December. I had been looking for over a year. If you think finding a regular is tough, try looking for a lefty version. It's the knife that seemed to always just slip through my fingers.

I found mine on the auction site as well. The guy wanted way too much for it, and wouldn't budge. The listing finally just expired, unsold. I finally made a deal with him this January. I got it for 440$ I think that was a fair price. It's was in good shape with some scratches on the ti. Let's just say, it was well worth the price for me. I haven't put it down since and I've got some great knives to choose from.

I don't know what it is about a plain old regular Regular, but it's just right. Just the quintessential pocket knife IMO

That was a good price, especially for the rarer lefty. The large regular was my first sebenza and my first CRK folder period and has always continued to be my favorite. I don't edc one everyday ( been carrying a small classic recently ), but there are times when nothing feels better in hand than a large regular.

I love the large regulars as well. I have four of them now, but have owned seven in total. Best of the best in my opinion.

I was watching that one as well, but backed out when the seller couldn't say if the knife was sharpened or not. It's probably nothing, but eBay just worries me.

Its definitely risky, especially when its the seller doesn't accept returns... toss in the rapidly growing fake population which are getting increasingly tougher to spot, more so in photos, and you have yourself a crap shoot. Almost glad I didn't win after reading Haze's post on fakes. I just bought a NIB graphic regular and the secure felling I have knowing its authenticity and well as condition is well worth the extra hundo paid.
