Yep, that they have.

I was watching the 2nd episode of the new season last night, and saw obvious changes.

Remember that wood handle, 10" knife he carried around everywhere? I think someone identified it as a puma?

Well, last night someone asked him to hand it over, and he takes it out....

and it's an SOG TIGERSHARK!! Whoa, I guess the producers figured it's time for an upgrade? I was quite happy with the tigershark addition, as I think it's something he would get.

Then he hands Kate a folder. Now, as far as I know, there was only ONE folder on the entire show: first, it was a spydie. Then it changed to some knockoff with a thumbstud. Both had aluminum handles.

Well, he hands her the knife...now it's aluminum handles with BLACK inlays! Not even sure what that one is. The knife has totally changed.

So, strange things are happening on the show (monsters, deranged frenchwoman, etc.). But to have your puma turn into a tigershark is quite strange.

Funny how someone can simply swap knives on a deserted island.

it was an S&W SWAT knockoff... in Lost's defense... the case he kept his knives in was pretty big. chances are there were quite a few knives in the case...

I caught it when I watched the tape this morning, I love how his knives changed so quickly.

When he started down the hole into the mysterious hatch, he was carrying his old MASTER Bowie, but when he arrived at the bottom of the shaft he was now carrying the SOG or SOG-Like knife and what looked like a Gerber AR 3.0 or more likely a junk rip-off.

I think you may be right, I just watched teh DVD episode "Walkabout" a few days ago, where they revealed his "case-O-knives", and there was I believe a large Tanto point fixed blade in the case, that hasn't been seen in use until now. I'll go back and check the DVD again.

Planterz:

the island is spooky...so maybe it just changed magically! :D

It's a little annoying, but I'm somewhat happy with the change. I like the SOG Tigershark, so to see it on TV is kinda cool.

My theory is that these knives keep changing because the production assistants keep "using" them, and never giving them back.

I'm just happy knives are portrayed in a positive fashion on the show. :D

I had that exact same question last night, but knew I couldn't exactly turn to my wife and ask her. Thanks for posting the answer here.

you know what is really spooky

i bought the season dvd set because of the other "lost" thread :p

really like the show so far

They never say exactly how many knives he had. I'm assuming it was a shitload, and not going to fight the show on that point. I mean, you're going to let which *knife* he has ruin it for you, not the mechanical dinasaurs, magic black smoke, polar bears etc?

no no, I love the show for many reasons, Locke's character being the primary reason.

These changes haven't ruined the show for me, but I know how production companies work, and I just don't like how they can overlook something like that, and not have fans notice. "Oh they wouldn't notice such a small thing like that." At least an explanation would be nice (the show cuts to ANOTHER suitcase for of knives), that'd be great.

But I've watched the entire season, and he's pretty much stuck to the same ones: the spydie knockoff, the buck master bowie, and that wood handle/partially serrated knife that he likes to throw. He had a hunter that he lent to Kate a lot, but that's about it. So, to have him change gears without explanation leaves one thinking, that's all.

so if the producers asked the fans of the show what knife they would like Locke to carry what would you vote for?

i would vote for the upcoming fusion battle mistress. would certainly show up on film well.

Another question:
IIRC they had 4 pistols, all 9mm (9x19mm) service pistols,
but then the "exdrugboy" used what looked like a .32 or maybe .380 to shot the kidnaper.
Where does this one came from???

I'm fairly sure I remember him switching knives before he left with Kate to go back to the hatch.

From the same case as the rest, I'm at that episode in the DVD set, I give it a freeze frame and try to ID it, my memory is saying S&W 9mm, but I will check.

Sure shot the crap out of him though!

I've really enjoyed season one but am unable to see season two due to my current location (Kuwait).
Bearing that in mind I have a few questions.

1. What happens to Sawyer and crew on the raft? Last I saw the kid was kidnapped, Sawyer was shot and the raft was blown up.

2. What do they find in the hole?

3. Any clue as to what the 'Monster' is yet?

Would appreciate any tips as it may be 2-3 months before I get to see any of season 2.

Sawyer and Mike float around awhile, something bumps the pice of the raft that they are floating on that they assume was a shark, but on this show???? They eventually wash back up on a shore, all this time they have assumed also that Jin is dead. Suddenly Jin comes running out of the trees towards them, with his arms tied behind his back and the only word he says is "Others", then people start coming out of the woods towards them and the episode ends there.

2. What do they find in the hole?

Some kind of underground shelter, stockpiled with food and with a man in it that Jack met years before in America. They haven't revealed anything else about him yet, it ends with him holding Jack, Kate and Locke at gunpoint, one thing I noticed, ALL his weapons are Russian Military issue. (AK-47 and a Makarov pistol)

3. Any clue as to what the 'Monster' is yet?

Nope, still haven't revealed that yet.

If you want to send me an e-mail to the address in my profile, I will be glad to keep you updated with a synopsis of each weeks episode while your in Kuwait.

Thanks, I think I will. Take care.

you can always check out the lost forums at http://abc.go.com/primetime/lost/boards.html

I am a big fan of the show, but you wouldn't believe the stuff that people catch on those forums...did you see that the shark in the water circling the raft had the same logo on it as Desmond's shirt? Desmond is the guy in the shaft...the logo says Darhma...If you like the show at all check out their boards on all the theories and little details that people find there...also you can see some weird stuff at http://www.oceanic-air.com/ People have found all kinds of clues by looking over this site, basicaly it's a spoof site for the show...

Good luck in Kuwait, God bless you!
