Lost my BK 2...

... to a low down dirty thief. Let me explain, I was keeping it in the trunk of my car as it is too large to take into work in my day pack as they consider anything over 3" to be a "weapon"... So some cretin decided to jimmy my trunk cable and relive me of its roll stamped, stripped and micarta handled goodness. So I guess my question is should I replace it with one of the new laser etched ones or should I upgrade and get a 9 or... Please help me make a decisions about this as I'm in a weird mood about it, I didn't realize I'd become that attached to that tank of a knife...
 
Good excuse to upgrade, or get a BK-10 and customize it. Sorry you got your knife stolen. As an aside, did you file a police report..just thinking, it may show up somewhere else :D

You should replace it and get a bk9. You need a BK9. You can't not have a 9. Follow that up with a 10. And a 16.
 
I know what you mean about being attached to "the beast". While its not my favorite, I would be pissed if some dirt bag stole it.
It is an iconic blade for sure.
If it were me, the bk10 would replace it, and hopefully being a Becker it would fight and claw its way home.
I am sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry about your knife, that's always a mess when one is 'lost'...I hope the thief cuts himself on it--badly. If I may offer a suggestion, go with the same, get a new Bk-2...........and a BK-11 to go with it so it doesn't get lonely..
 
I don't know that a BK9 is an "upgrade" as it's really a different tool altogether. Although, I do think you should have a BK9. I can't stand a thief, as I've fallen victim myself a time or two, I'm sorry to hear your misfortunes. I hope you find the bastard.
 
Man it totally sucks to have a personal item stolen, you feel like someone has taken a part of your life away and you feel violated.
I would hate to lose my BK2 and would definitely replace it with another one because it really is a different animal than the BK9. BUT I also agree with the comments about "needing" a 9- I thought the BK9 was no different than the 7 and I couldn't have been more wrong, it is a great blade and has a balance and weight to it that makes you want to go out and chop stuff down! I actually look forward to yardwork lately because I get to use a big knife to chop limbs etc. get a 2 and then get a 9- you really NEED both!
 
Yea I had my point n shoot digital camera in the trunk with a few extra memory cards and batteries, thief got that as well... Sounds like I'm just going to have to get another 2, and probably a 9 to go along with it...
 
i know how you feel....some fleabag swiped my BK16 off my pack right when I was to start my canoeing trip! Get a 2 and a 9 and a 10....:rolleyes:
 
will your car insurance cover it? if you are going to get a 9, you might want to consider getting a 16 instead---I dont think there is anything my 14/16/9 couldnt do
 
I thin the value of the knife and camera is not going to be worth it once I pay the deductible... So I ordered a 2 which will replace the one I lost and a 9 to take my mind off the matter oh and a 24 just for fun... Ahh the feel of waiting for the mail to deliver new steel!

You are going to LOVE your new toys, I got my 9 today and now I really see what all the hype is about, flavor flave couldn't have been more wrong on this one..

P.S. Don't worry too much, I hear that Beckers were designed to fail in the hands if thieving scumbags :thumbup:
 
I'm not a Becker owner but I just wanted to say sorry that some no good thieving dbag did that. Second I love Becker owners, you guys always attribute a spirit as descriptors onto your blades.

I've never whipped out my black mini grip and said hello "monster mini grip" you will carry forth your duties today with fervor... lol. Good on you for that though.
