Lost my BK9

I guess I'm mostly posting for sympathy since the average person won't really understand losing "just a knife" since they don't understand having that knife in the first place.
I pulled my bug out bag out of my car to check some batteries and make sure everything was good and the BK9 that always lives in there was gone. It seems odd that someone would just take the knife but maybe I'm just not seeing what else walked off.
I've had some repairs done recently but no way to really prove anything.
I left it unzipped most of the time and sitting on the floor of the back seat and have never had a problem in 20 years. I've had the knife longer than I've known my wife or had my job...

This sucks.

That does suck. Guess I need to take my emergency packs out of my vehicles before services. Or at least check it afterwards. I hope it turns up under the seat.

I'll look again but there isn't a whole lot of room for that big knife to hide.
Thanks for the well wishes.

It wouldn't be so bad if I could swing a new one but my married father spending money is mostly non existent especially compared to my single guy money of 20 years ago.

Sorry to hear and hope it shows up somewhere.

If it makes you feel better my 9 is looking better than ever.:D

Now tell the cat to walk the plank lol.

I always take my bag and extras out when my truck goes in.

I always used to but then one time I didn't take the BOB and it was fine so I think I kind of forgot about it in a way.
I certainly will take everything out now.

Awe! It breaks the heart. Which one of the previous manufacturers made it? :

I'll be completely honest; I don't know. I'm not even sure it's a 9 (pretty sure it is, certainly matches the pictures) but I'm sure I bought it before I joined here based on a recommendation from a friend. It's been used a bit here and there but was mostly there as my crap hits the fan knife. I kept it shaving sharp so if someone did take it (thinking they did) I hope they're careful.

Sorry for your loss. Maybe it will turn up.

This incident possibly supports the claim that even criminals prefer Beckers.

You are more generous w/your "hope" than I'd be. For your sake, I hope it pops up somewhere, somehow!

Damn Neko that's rough!

Smoke and prayers for that 9. If it was lifted... I hope it removes the hand of whoever may have stolen it. Many of us here can relate to how hard it is to get money together for a knife purchase (having wife and kids that is), and its killer when something like this happens.

On the plus side, you now have an excuse for a new vehicle knife or survival blade when the time comes! There are many awesome options out there! A new 9, maybe a 21, or even see if you can snag a 20 :D Best of luck! Condolences for your loss!

Sorry for your loss! I hope that it comes up somewhere! Its really sad that someone would take it from you just like that. I hope that either you find it or are able to replace it with something you are almost as happy with

I keep a bk2 in trunk and do worry about someone lifting it when I get it washed or valet parked which is a good bit being in a big city.

I looked up pictures and from what I see mine was a camillus.
Looked like this

I kind of like it better than the current but maybe by the time I can save up again it'll grow on me. Lord knows there's time.

Bummer. I avoid auto mechanics because I don't trust them. A stolen knife is cheaper than a bogus repair. If ya get both you're double screwed. On the bright side you can now justify a purchase or two,
