lost my dog...

Lost... as in missing?

Call all local animal shelters and if they don't have him have them be on the look out for him.
Post posters in the area. Start searching in your area...spiraling outward.

I'm sure others will chime in with advice.

Check with the crazy cat lady, one of her feral beasts could've done some damage. My dogs have run off from time to time, it's a very scary ordeal, and they can cover a lot of ground. Check with your local animal pounds daily, and invest in dog tags.

Call the local PD and ask if anyone has reported finding a lost dog. Also contact the local Animal Control Officer.

Ah man I hope you find your dog. I can sympathize with how you might feel right now . :(

She's missing, I foudn a close match online petharbor.com but a guy I got on the line says she's gone, but they got her in in april... I think he just got the number mixed up. I tried again and they wont give me more info unless I go down there. Anywhere else I've been calling I'm getting no answer. I guess I'll try again tommorow.

Check with your neighbors... they may have seen your dog; even fed your dog thinking it was a stray. Go & do a visual check at animal shelters in the area; check the local newspapers for 'lost & found pets'. Do a thorough check of the immediate vicinity... your pooch may be hurt & trying to get back home to you. Good luck and prayers sent!

Shelters and posters are your best bets. Lots of posters, on telephone polls, at the local grocery store, gym, etc. I'd say forget the 'net, too low percentage. If a little old lady down the road found her, she may see a poster, she may take her to the pound, but she won't be on the net.

Local kids are also a good resource. Offer a reward, amount can be unspecified if you like, but put "REWARD" on the posters.

Actually go to the shelter(s) -don't just call and trust that the person you talk to will see your dog as you describe her and let you know if she's there or not. Go see for yourself.

Good luck.

Good luck finding the dog. Beware of people who may call saying they found it on their way through and for a fee will ship it back to you-it is a common scam and I have known a couple of people that have had it put to them that way.

Best of luck finding your pup. The same thing happened to us once, and she turned up at the local shelter about a month later. I hope yours comes home a lot quicker than that. The tags are a good idea if you don't already have them, I think that's how the shelter managed to track us down.

We feel for you. Went through this agony with one of our greyhounds about five years ago. As others have said, put up lots of posters with "REWARD" indicated, check local shelters yourself, and make sure the neighbourhood kids know about it (they'll look in places you'd never dream of!)

Bring a poster to the local police station - they may have a dispatcher who is an animal lover.

If you contact local radio stations, some of them may still air "lost dog" announcements (most don't these days).

Hope you get that little sweetie back soon.

Sorry, that really sucks. I think I lost a pet this morning too. Good luck neosporin.

Neo, If you have any grocery stores, gas stations, convenience stores, etc. in your area, close by, ask them if it would be acceptable to put up posters with your dogs picture and your info on them. There's lots of good advice on this thread. Best of luck in finding your friend. ADBF.
