Stopped in at Motosport to get a new spark plug, put it in my right front pocket. I actually thought I heard something hit the ground while I was doing it, looked around didn't see anything. The ground was all pebbly and I had on some boots, figured I just kicked something. About 1/2 way home I reached down and it were gone! I live 50 miles from the shop, it had been about 20 minutes since I left, wasn't going to turn around just to find out it wasn't there. Got home and called, nope.

Kind of bummed, it was just getting nice and broke in. I hadn't carried it in a while and was becoming impressed all over again. I really don't want to buy another one, going to think about it for a couple days. That was a $114.50 spark plug, hope it runs cool :)

Just looked, no rose wood or carbon fiber ones left, mine was RW, dangit!

Sorry for your loss man.

Not that it’s any consolation but atleast if you do decide you want to replace it the knife is readily available.

Yeah, but not the Rosewood. My EZC will have to cover the small knife duty for a bit until I decide whether or not to replace it. It was worth $110 but not sure it's worth $210.

Hate that for you.
I lost a bm mini stryker in a bar scuffle in 98 or 99. Fella scratched my eyeballs while we were rolling around so i started biting, aaahh the ignorance of youth. I went back into the bar the next day inquiring about my knife and the staff was border line hostile. (Knife fell out of my pocket, didnt even cross my mind to use it as a weapon) cheers

awww..a tragic loss..for now
the bright side of it is that money can be earned.
hopefully one learns to move on for the better.

I dropped a knife through the gaps in my Walmart cart last year. I only had it one week! I heard it fall too, but thought it was just my keys. It was only a $20 spike, but I learned my lesson. No more knives in the outer pockets of my Maxpedition organizers.

Ended up ordering a blue one, I had a $5 credit (woohoo) so it was under $100. It's such a handy little knife, great steak knife.

I love my rosewood Gent.
I even tru oiled the onlays.
My perfect EDC knife.

Remember, it's easy to swap the onlays.
I even used it sans onlay for a week while
the onlays were curing. Also replaced the
clip with a stonewashed MXG clip. Might
counter bore it so the screws sit flush like
the stock clip.

Moral of the story: Whenever you hear some unexpected noise that sounded like a small hard object hitting the pavement or floor near you---stop everything and check for your keys-wallet-knife-flashlight-whatever before you take even one more step. Condolences on losing your Gent but on the bright side, thankfully it wasn’t a >$700 knife.

^^ Yep, glad it was what it was. Agreed 100%, while I checked after hearing a noise I certainly dismissed it way too quickly.

Went back in this morning just to look myself, got some sympathy but that's it.

A deal on a new African Twin would have made me feel a little better but I'm pretty over it now :D

Thanks for all the kind words guys!

That sucks man. If I lost a knife now a days it would probably come with a divorce too.

I have done something similar. This was when the red m390 para 2s first dropped. It was my first time carrying that knife. I went to a party and had to park in a grassy field. I felt something fall but didn’t think anything of it. I didn’t realize it was gone till the next day. I went back to the same spot I was parked and there it was. I was really surprised it was still there.

LOL boy do I get that. If I would have come home with the African Twin that would probably be the case, gotta ease into those kind of things. She was actually pretty sympathetic about the knife. She's a knife gal, if I'd been carrying a hi $$ one there would have been some grief I'm sure.

Man I’m trying to decide what is worse, losing a knife or having to drive 100 miles round trip to buy a spark plug.

Always sucks to lose a knife. I lost a Kershaw Piston after having it a day and took me a while to find a replacement being a discontinued blade but finally got another and in better condition. I like my little Gent quite a bit also and had some custom OD micarta scales made for it. Fantastic value knife and luckily they are still available and while not exactly cheap they arent super expensive either. If i lost mine id pick up another.

I did order another, should be coming next week.

I actually live out in the stix and work in town so do the 100 mile round trip when I go into the office. Fortunately I only go in a couple times a week.
