:( I feel empty inside. I lost my loved Hideaway Knife yesterday after washing it off with some warm water and setting it down somewhere in my house. I have turned my home upside down looking for my little blade, and I cant find it. I'm also afraid it may rust because I can't remember drying it off after washing it. The steel is 440c stainless, do you guys think it will rust if left damp for a couple of days??? I know this may sound stupid, but do any of you guys have any ideas that might help me find it?:(

look for something else....anything else....you won't find whatever it is...but you will likely find the HAK. if it's rusted you can just clean that stuff off.

I feel like I'm slipping into a state of minor depression, I'm 17 and I don't get paid a lot so that $90 knife was no small buy to me, my mom said she would scour the house for it tommorrow while she's cleaning, in the mean time, I am going to pray.

440C is one of the more stainless steels, so it should be OK. Have you moved the furniture near where you might have put it down? It's easy to lose, knocking it aside and having it drop behind something.

Damn.....your probably right....... she already tried to sneak my S&W model 629 classic by me the other day.....

I would seriously consider seeking some help over this depression of losing a knife. It will definitely help you cope with this situation.

Only kidding of course. (don't mean to be politically correct, but I just got in trouble with the cops for talking about guns in school, 2 freshmen girls overheard me and reported to the dean that they had heard me say I was goung to bring one to school.)

That sucks! Sorry you lost it, maybe it'll turn up.
Hmmm try walking around barefoot, that guarantees you will step on it or at least some sharp but unseen object, lol.
Thats kinda a law of the Murphy variety, sharp objects are invariably attracted to bare feet.
:)

i would hope i wouldnt need to see a shrink over losing a $90 knife, or any knife for that matter, lotsa stuff in this old world to be depressed about but losing a knife imho isnt one of them lol.

of course my girlfriend, she doesnt need any reason to get depressed so if she was to lose something, who knows what it could lead to lol.

Don't get deppressed.

Take a step back, lay down on the couch, close your eyes, and think very carefully the general area where you last had it. Doesn't need to be the exact pinpoint location. Just the general area, like atleast the room.

You'll find it I'm sure, just keep looking after you take a step back and think about it.

I know what you feel like. Been there, but hey, this is really a minor thing in the grand scheme of things.

Good luck.

Go ahead and get depressed at losing your knife! At 17 it's good experience for the future! :p

Bro,
It's in your house somewhere. You know that for sure, right? I lose my damn keys all the time, but I know they are in my house otherwise I couldn't have driven home. :D It'll turn up in a little bit. Heck, one time I found them in the refrigerator. Must've had them in my hand when I opened it up, set them on the shelf to grab something, then forgot and closed the door.

Unless you live in a 20K sq ft. house, just methodically start looking over every inch of every room. Behind the couch and in the cusions. In the bathroom cabinets. Check the refer for me just in case!

Good luck, don't worry, and you may turn up some loose change to boot.

John...
