Lost my Kabar Dozier

My black Kabar Dozier worked it's way off of the pocket clip this weekend when I was cutting wood; I've had it for about eight years.

It's happened twice before but I was able to find it. No luck this time. Ironically, I had thought of putting an orange lanyard on it that morning but then didn't do it. If I replace it I'll get an orange one.

Has anyone else had trouble with the pocket clip riding up and falling off of the pocket?

Thanks,
Raja

Not specifically a black Dozier, but several times I've had pocket clip catch on "something" and pull out or had a knife "work" its way out while bending, kneeling, crawling, etc.

My most recent "accidental removal" was just yesterday. The clip of my Buck 484 hung on the seat belt and was pulled out of my pocket and fell between the seat and center console. I "misplaced" a Buck 482 in the attic when it became unclipped while I was rolling out new insulation. It's not lost, I just don't know exactly where in a 4000 sq ft attic it is currently stored. At least it's in a dry location.

And the saga continues . . .

Sorry to hear about your loss, Raja. I realize this seems obvious, but I'd recommend against clipping your knives to your pants pocket from now on. And no, you're definitely not the first person who lost their knife because it became unclipped accidentally nor will you be the last.

I have the Orange and bright Green versions (hate the word zombie pertaining to knives). Awesome for the money. I take them fishing all the time and the coating definitely helps with corrosion. Mine have had salt water exposure for hours and hours and cut through countless pieces of bait. Sharpens super quick with about 2 minutes of work on a double sided sharpener. Winner in my book!

I have. With my coyote tan dozier. Iz rode out of my back pocket when i was walking home new years. Lukaly the sound of it hitting the pavment caught my attention and i picked it up

I lost a Buck Bantam when I was 10 because the pocket clip snagged on something and it pulled out. I assume my jacket broke my heart back then but now I'm a fixed blade kinda guy:thumbup:

I'm lucky that it's the first knife I've lost in 25 years and also that it was a $20 knife. However, I'm still looking for it.

Sorry, man.
Get another from Knifecenter.
You might want to try a Bucklite Max, with the deep pocket clip.

Not that a deep pocket clip can't snag on something and pull your knife out of your pocket just as easily as a high-ride pocket clip can. Just sayin' . . .

The only totally safe pocket clip is no pocket clip at all.
