Lost my Large Sebenza this morning but recovered it!

Since I got my Large plain-Jayne Sebenza almost two months it hasn't left my right front pocket. I've picked up 3 more Large Sebenzas since but the plain is my favorite; very low-key and classic in my opinion. I've done many food preps, cutting steaks, fruits, you name it.

This morning I wore dressier/thinner pants than normal that doesn't have a lot of meat for the clip to grab onto. Took the train, rode the shuttle to work, got in my office, and I reach for the Sebenza it was gone! After a frantic search, it was a goner.

With confidence depleted, I patiently waited for the shuttle to come back. Before I could ask the driver, he smiles and hands me my knife. What a great guy and what a relief! I've been collecting cash for him from other coworkers every Christmas, and today I received an early Christmas gift from him.

It may not be the most desirable knife in my small collection, but the joy and connection I've had with it is priceless. Thanks for reading! HAGWE all!

glad you got your sebenza back :) this world has too few caring people left in it

Stories like this make me want to solely EDC a beater and keep my Sebenza safe lol. Glad you got it back!

Thanks I appreciate the comments, I think I'll cary it in my bag from now on to/from work.

I feel very fortunate. Good karma indeed.

I think you bought that lottery ticket in advance, working with good people.
I carried my knives IWB inside the waistband in NYCity, never had one shift on me.

Never tried that before, but hmmmmm... it's not that uncomfortable after awhile and you definitely know it's there.

In the business world, it's always a good idea to fly under the radar. I used to put my thumb alongside it, slide it up, flick it half open, cut something and close it, and slide it back. Knife inside the pants, clip under the belt. People would see what I did and ask "wasthataknife???" :D

That's great that your kindnesses were repayed. Great to know there are still some honest folks in this world.

It would be tough to lose such a nice knife.

It's a very welcome change to hear a happy ending these days, what a stand up guy.

You should give yourself some credit as well, if you hadn't have earned his respect he may not have given it back to you, good man or not. Your story shows that if you treat other people well that they'll more often than not return the favor- too bad there aren't more of both of you walking around.

I understand your connection with your knife, I feel the same way with ones I've carried for a while. I think I'd be more sad about the loss of the specific blade more than the monetary loss if it happened to me.

I hope that you get to enjoy that Seb for a very long time, thanks for sharing your story.

Thank you for the very kind words. I try to do my small part. I went from being gutted to having a renewed faith in humanity, LOL....

I agree with the sentimental value; I appreciate this little guy even more after a close call.
