Got my first custom slipjoint from Rob Thomason on the exchange, it was a small Snakewood scaled folder with a drop point Ray Cover.

I got it in the mail, slipped it into a William Henry clipped pouch and clipped it to my pocket, all day it was there and I fondled and proudly showed to everyone I could.

About 7:00pm we went to my daughter's boyfriends Band Concert at School, it was a long day and I was up and down and in and out of the chair in the auditorium, come 9:00 pm we left and went home, as I went to empty my pockets I noticed the knife case was empty.

First I got a rash of crap from my wife for bringin' it to school, (yes I should've known better) then I searced the truck and what ever I was wearin' that day, nothing.:(

I got up early the next morning and went to the parkin' lot to look around, nothin'.:(

I went inside and searched where I was sittin' and even spoke with someone who took my info for security and the custodians incase some one turned it in, fat chance:rolleyes:.

I went home with the phone #s for Custodial and Security with nothin' to do but wait till Monday to call back.:(

While my wife was cleanin' the place I sit on the floor in the livin' room she picked up a denim work shirt and guess what tumbled out?

Yep, my brand new custom Ray Cover Slipjoint, man was I happy and my wife was relatively nice in returnin' my knife, she didn't even say, "I told ya so.".

A happy ending.:D:thumbup:

Ohhhhh man, I am glad that was a happy ending...... I right now cannot find my leather jacket or my Case swayback gent. My loss is not 100th of what that would have been. It is always nice to have support from the wife in our time of need is'nt it?:(

I like to spin stuff on my wife sometimes by saying, "I was not wanting you to fix my situation or criticize, I was just looking for some sympathy." That always makes her say WTF!:D

That is a NICE knife!

I've only had one "close call" with one of my customs. I was waaaaaaaaay out of town for one night to testify at a work related hearing...I checked out of the hotel did the deed and headed home only to realize I was missing my Alsdorf Jack. I panicked because I knew I had used it the night before in the hotel room. I later located in my laptop tote...guess I put it there the night before:o

"I lost my Ray Cover." (shock)
"I found my Ray Cover." (faints)

Nah, there's always another. (That's a helpful thought, innit?)

"I'm going out. Where's my Opinel?" :p
