Over the past few months, I've gotten pretty consistant at throwing knives (at least at a fairly close distance.) Then I went out to practice the other day, and I couldn't stick a one! I haven't changed a thing; same knives, same stance, same target, same distance, everything! I honestly have no idea what's going on. Any suggestions?

Study how your knife hits the target. If your knives rotate in your throwing style, they will tell you everything you need to know. If they keep slapping into the target blade up, you need to step back a couple inches; likewise, if hitting flat against the target blade down, you need to scoot closer. if it's a mix of the two, the problem may be your grip--it might not be consistent and is leaving your hand earlier or later.

I've had that issue before, and Watchful makes good points. Sometimes I find that I'm either not following all the steps, and likely not focusing on it enough, or I'm focusing too much. I've noticed that when going over everything I focus too much on one thing and my throw is off balance.

... cut a potato in half. rub one half on your throwing hand and eat the other half. take the hand rubbed half and, on a full moon night, go outside and throw it over your shoulder behind you... and dont look back at it whatever you do.
