While I was mowing this afternoon. I have a 2.5 acre yard, and I walked it trying to find the knife, but it was nowhere to be found. It slipped right out of the pocket in my cargo shorts. The good news is, it's easily replaceable! Maybe I'll try a different version this time.

Darn that stinks man. At least you know where it is, sort of. Keep a close eye out the next time you mow and I am sure you will find it, hopefully before the mower does.

Bummer for sure :(. This past Christmas, I gave a brand spanking new Utilitac to a coworker. The following week when we worked the same shift. I didn't see the knife clipped to his pocket. I asked not carrying it today? Na I lost it, and I don't know where...I believe this caused me more disappointment then him.

It's never good to lose any knife, even if it is inexpensive, sorry to see you lose your knife. There is a satisfaction finding something that was lost. Don't give up and find that knife!!!!!!!

That would irritate me, regardless of whether it was a knife or something else. A gift is supposed to mean something, and the guy was nonchalant about it? Last time I'd be giving him anything, that's for sure.

I have given a lot of knives over the past few years, just that kind of fella I guess, as of late I have come to my senses.
And realized the majority of them, could care less. Kinda disappointing, as some of the knives were any where from $200.00 to a $475.00 Sebenza.

I hear ya, brother. Same here. My best bud, we were doing something outside, I forget what, and he whipped out a knife to cut something. I saw it, and did a double-take, it was a Smith and Wesson whatever. I was like "Oh HELL no. That's not going to work for me."

His birthday was coming up, so I got him a tanto-bladed Griptilian. That was a few years ago now, and he carries it every day. I know, because we hang out a lot. And he does a lot of things with a knife, home repairs, car repairs, works around his shop, you name it. That Grip handle is battered, the blade is scuffed from where he's spent long hours learning to sharpen on it, but I tell you what. That thing is still 100% ready to go, and he keeps it sharp as a scorned woman's tongue. He's bought (and I've given him) other great knives since then, and he's taken care of, and uses (which really, is better) every one of 'em.

But then, there was my cousin, he turned 18, I gave him a nice Buck 110, and he promptly lost it.

I see an imorov torture test. You'll either find out how it holds up to a mower, or long term exposure to the elements!

FOUND IT! Before I went out to mow, I had opened a box that arrived from Sierra Trading Post. As I was getting everything out of the box just now, the knife was laying in the bottom of the box. I never put it in my pocket like I thought I had. I walked every inch of my property yesterday and today looking for it.

Old age ain't for sissies, guys. :D

Dude, that's excellent news. I know the feeling myself. I've lost a knife or two in my time. I had a Spyderco Native (back when Wally World sold 'em for $35 a pop) and I lost it while at my parents' house. I found it....

three years later. Turns out that when I'd gone up into the attic to get something for my mother, I'd snagged it on some stored furniture. A table leg whipped it out of my pocket. I know this is what happened, because I was once again at my parents' house and they asked me to run into the attic to get something Dad couldn't reach, and that same table leg whipped the knife I was carrying right of my pocket by snagging the clip. But these days, I am a lot more aware of things like that happening, so I caught it happening. My ZT 0350 landed in between two boards, into a bed of insulation...and it landed right next to the long lost Native. I still have both of those knives today. Again, congratulations, brother.

Congrats, brother! I'm seriously happy for ya! I know it's not a pricey knife but I bet it still feels good finding it.

When you have a knife that you really like, how much you paid isn't even a factor. I knew I could easily replace it, but I had invested some time into getting it the way I wanted it.

You'd think I found a bar of gold when I saw it laying in that box. :D

Hahaha damn right! I bet you heard angels singing and everything
