Man this sucks... Ive had my ZT 551 since May or June and I carried it almost constantly. I lost it in the brush yesterday while hunting. I tried to back track and find it but to no avail. What a kick in the gut... This is the first knife I've ever lost!

On a totally unrelated note, I found a knife yesterday while out hiking.

a friend lost a knife while hunting once and when he returned to the same area the next year he found it sticking in a tree. where he left it

I feel for you buddy. Not nearly as expensive, but I lost a damascus skyline in a similar fashion. Now I can't find another one.

Sorry to hear that... but look on the bright side, the 0560 will be out soon enough

Get a flash light out there one night and perhaps you can catch a reflection off of it. I lost my Storm II which I had for a few years and I was upset for a few days. I feel for you, 0551 is a bit more precious than a Storm II

Damn, that is rough.....I would get back out there and bring some fresh eyes......metal detector and that flashlight idea may work... good luck man

Just got back from out there again with a friend of mine. Still no knife... Oh well maybe after the holidays I can possibly score another one.

Where do you live? I can always try to find it for you :D

Sorry to hear about your loss....

I think Bob has a good idea with the flashlight..

When I first got the knife it had some issues with lock rock. I took the knife apart and bent in the lock bar considerably. It help for awhile the returned. I then look some sandpaper to lock bar and try to get it to fit better. Wrong move made the knife horrible... Lucky me it was a ZT and had Kershaws AWESOME customer service. I sent them am Email even explaining what I had done to the knife and they told me to send it in. They sent my knife back to me with a brand new Titanium slab for FREE and I never had a problem after that. When I first got the knife I was amazed with the feel and constuction of it. I babied it for a month or two. Then I got a nick or a scratch from light use. After those few months passed and the blemishes built up I really started to use the knife and thats when she really started to shine. It was a great hard use knife that will be missed if I never find her. Hopefully I will... Sorry just had to vent alittle...

I'm sorry to hear that. If you don't find it I still have one NIB #583. I originally bought 3 and traded one off to get a 0300. I'm in no hurry to part with it...but if yours can't be found I have one for you. (might also help raise funds for the 1 0560 and 3 0561 I pre-ordered)

Kind Regards,
1S1K

Time for another hunting trip...hope you find it.

I feel your pain, once lost in the forest and never found one of my first pricey knife, while riding mtb.

Ive dropped more than a few knives in the brush. As long as I can narrow it down to a relatively smallish area, I have a big magnet I tie to a line and just drag it around. Pretty amazing how well it works. Primitive I know but metal detectors are about buried treasure, yours is likely on the surface!
