I have had the Boker Turbine with the X15 T.N blade since last July. I love this knife. Great size, weight, looks but my problem comes with keeping this thing sharp.

Edge lasted a week or two max. I even brought it with me on deployment and found it to be completely useless as it will no longer even cut string. I have no intention on paying more money plus shipping and weeks wait to have a knife of this value sharpened.

How do I go about keeping this thing sharp? Is there something more specific I need to edge this thing up?

Please inform me, otherwise I'm just going to sell it. Losing both money and a favorite knife

It doesn't look like it requires anything special. So, I guess the answer would depend on what you know and or want to learn about sharpening. There's a lot of variety: Lansky/Gatco sharpeners, Sharpmaker (although this might take a while if it is really dull... or read the tips on using sandpaper or a coarse stone), sharpening/stropping with sandpaper and leather (which will convex the edge), freehand on stones, EdgePro, etc. If you don't learn to sharpen it, and just sell it, you'll have the same problem with the next knife you get.

I def dont claim to be the best at it. I bought one of those lansky setups with the clamps and 2 stage stones. Didnt have room in my gear to bring with me but I'll be able to test it out again in a month

Does it just take along time because the metal is so hard?

Get someone to teach you how to properly sharpen a knife. Tools require maintenance.

Not to mention the blade made of vorpal that I keep searching for.

I dont claim it to be the knife's fault. Just thought maybe I bit off more then I could chew and got too hard of a steel that i didnt have the correct tools for.

I have a few RAT knives that I manage to keep decent but not razor. I'll read up on it all some more and get a better idea on the specifics
