I saw a clip of ABC's hit show LOST and the actor who plays John Locke was holding a serrated Tigershark. The show airs tonight and I will be watching closely to verify it. Too bad he doesn't have a Midnite Tiger (like I just scored) but then he is lost on an island!

He is definitely using the Tigershark. I personally sent a couple knives to them for use on the show. I will also be watching tonight. I can't wait.

...and how many planes routinely just "happen" to have a few SOG Tigersharks tucked away in case they crash on an island, hmmm?

Unless you want to make a real stretch and claim it's part of the plane's survival kit. That would make sense, because everyone knows a survival knife has to be at least 9 inches long and have dramatic grind lines to keep an actor alive on TV. LOL. :D

Still, it's a nice score in terms of product placement. First Uma Thurman and now Johne Locke. ;)

...and I almost forgot the fetching Sandra Gomez. Love the fullsize shot.

It's nice to see SOG knives on TV shown in a good light... By the way, The Desert Dagger was featured in the movie TimeCop.

As well as Kill Bill and one of the old, scary movies (something The Corn, or something like that).

You missed the first season! The Locke character had a suitecase full with knives (that managed to survive the plane crash) and he plays a character with keen sense on hunting and survival. Rent or buy the DVD seasons 1 and 2 if you can. It's a good show.

could that have been children of the corn? i don`r remember seeing a sog in it though

Just as long as they're not pictured on the evening news. Of course, if it's a nice clean cut.... :D

I don't watch those scary, green spewing, head swiveling movies. "Children of the Corn" sounds right, but I can't remember (it's an old age thing).

Simple blood, gore, and violence is OK.

But for Desert Dagger, the Kill Bill scene it wonderful!!!!!!

And in a "non" Desert Dagger, movie is the most amazing and famous of the SOG Knife cameos (actually, I'd call it a main "character") is the SOG Bowie in Arnold's The Terminator.

Also, on Walker Texas, Ranger, an assassin and his assassin wife (former CIA operatives) use ice versions of the SOG Pentagon. The evidence just melts away. There's one scene where they open a refrigerated briefcase with a bunch of them.

Sorry, I know this isn't a "movie" thread.

Now THERE'S an idea. Ron, you're a genius!

Not ice knives, but a line of non-metallic SOG knives similar to the Cold Steel line. If this "grivory" Skean Dhu is any indication, the Pentagon's full length serrated edge is possible too!

:) :) Put me down for two right now!!! :) :)

hey could somebody post the suitcase from season 1?!

I think there are more images but I could not find more in a short time. Just your typical Fury/United stuff but hey! one can dream! :D

Looks like the suitecase had more since the actors are seen using some of them and they are not those. Locke himself in season 1 was using a Spyderco hanging from his clothes.

The Locke character was supposedley on his way to a walkabout in the Australian bush (kinda like a survival training/challenge) when the plane crashed in the misterious island.

Nice photo, Dante!

In all fairness to the knives (and the property master who selected them), only two of the knives are really "Fury-UC" grade stuff.

From L. to R. there's:

A Camillus Ka-Bar
Certainly not junk in anyone's book. Probably the best "survival knife" in the whole suitcase.

A Tekna Survival Knife
The Tekna was a very well-made knife from the 80's. Even though it was a terrible survival knife design and equally poor as a fighter, it looked very-high tech and was beautifully made (like a lot of high quality production knives from the 80s). Closes at a 3 digit price tag every time it shows up on eBay. The guard looks very similar to many Striders, except Tekna did it first.

A United Cutlery Bodyguard
'nuff said.

An Italian-made hunter
IIRC Atlanta Cutlery imports them at very low prices. A better knife than you'd think for the money.

A United Cutlery Ring Dagger
yawn.

A Buck Tanto Nighthawk (or copy)
The Nighthawk was Buck's entry into the big SEAL-issue knife competition, the competition SOG Specialty Knives won. ;)

you are right! I have a NightHawk and I thoughthe Ka-Bar was legit but was not sure. During the episode you could see that the suitecase had even more blades I'm going to try and find the whole picture of it.

During the second season they showed something like a Buck 110 marked "US Army". Were the 110 issued officialy as US GI? I'll try to post that too.

There's a thread on BF somewhere where this was discussed in detail including screen shots. The gun store owner from Hawii that sold the props people the knives even wrote a few posts. Some of the knives were obviously modified for safety, and the Spyderco was mysteriously replaced by a cheap clone. Joe

Still, you got nearly every one with that one shot and my IDs matched with the earlier thread.

Now then, about the "U.S. Army issue" Buck 110. It just so happens other movie/TV nerds had this exact same conversation on their forum.

Came up 3rd, (that's right, 3rd) on my Google search so this is a hot topic.

Now if only there was that kind of obsessive fan base for those blasted knives in The Chronicles Of Riddick.

If you watch John Travolta closely in "Basic" you will see him stab Jackson with a SOG SEAL 2000. ( there is a remote chance it is a Tigershark but I doubt it)

Well the Tigershark is now the star of the show, so thank you Mr Lock for now I must have one!!!!! So the Recondo to go, the Tigershark to be ordered!!!
