Tonite in my Aikido class I found out that a fellow that I have been training with for the last year does lost wax castings. He just found out I was a knifemaker and he has an interest in making pommels and other fittings for knives in just about any material other than platinum.

His sculpting work is trully outstanding....I mean WOW!. I am going to have him cast me a few pommels in sterling or brass.

What kind of a market do you all think there is in the custom knife sector for these handmade pommels, ferrules, etc.? He is eagerly looking for the work and is a true artist.

Does anybody have an interest for that kind of stuff here?

I have the mold for a bowie guard that I have cast in bronze or sterling. They are universal which means they can be adapted to several knife styles. I have always wanted to make a wax for a pommel in the shape of a skull with an eye patch and the double guard like skeletal hands with the boney fingers wrapped around a giant pearl. Now my creative juices are flowing! Give me his number please?

I will get his phone number this coming week and post it or I can email you when I have it available.

L Hansen.....I am pretty sure he can do sword fittings too.
