There was a big scene with the Daryl characters team Gemini being used in this weeks walking dead. Maybe someone get post up the screenshots. Awesome blade. Def on the grail list

I'm impressed that they went so into character that they gave him a Busse

Jaxx, I agree with your first assessment in another thread... It does look like satin that has been sprayed/modified.
That second pic seems too shiny to be BBDC.

I love the fact that people are seeing Busses on T.V. even if they don't know it.

I agree. it was suppose to come back this month but they pushed it back to February. on a side note daryl better slow it down his 9 lives are running out lol. hopefully if he dies the chick will keep his busse to remember him by lol

I am having some major withdrawls from this show. I don't know how to spend my Sunday nights anymore.

I like how when Rick Grimes offers his knife to gut the zombie earlier in the season, Daryl responds by saying something like, "i'll use my knife. Its probably sharper anyways."

My wife and I are fans. I will say they really screwed the pooch the first half of the season. I fell asleep during a few episodes. Hopefully they'll redeem themselves with better script/plot/action. Just my opinion anyway...

As far as the knife I thought it was awesome as well. I was trying to figure out which Gerber it was since they smeared their knives all over a few of the episodes. Good to see they have taste where it counts. It's be awesome to see him behead a walker with it...

I'm still curious on the exact specs of Daryl's knife.

What exactly would you say the handle is?
G10 or Micarta?
To me it looks olive drab color... you guys probably know more about the colors Busse uses though... Saw someone post that they thought it was black and light tan... were they saying the handle was black and the blade tan? or is there a handle color "black and tan"

And it's a satin blade?

Someone posted somewhere they thought it was a double-cut blade? Not sure what that is...

As Dave pointed out above, looks to be std black/tan G10 - Satin Team Gemini to me.

My Wife and I watch this show together. She couldn't understand why I wanted to rewind this scene to check out the knife, though :)

Those of you that are fans of the show, anyone read the comics that it's based on? I enjoy the show but the original story is/was better. Unfortunately, Daryl does not exist in the comic though, at least not in the first 80 issues or so...that's as far as I've read.

If I remember correctly. (and if not, someone please refresh my memory!) "Double cut" is Busse's name for the special bead blast finish that they use on their knives. Busse bead blasts a knife twice...first with one blasting medium to "cut" the metal, the second with a finer blasting medium to "seal" the metal. Another way to remember is to think "twice bead blasted".

I do think that the TWD Team Gemini is doublecut. this would help greatly to reduce glare for the camera, and is pretty much the main advantage of the finish for any application where it is advantageous to not have a knife reflect light. :)
