Ok, got a good number of questions for the KAI gurus out there,
First off, and I actually asked this in another thread.......can someone tell me the production numbers for the some of the rare Kershaw/ZT's? For example:
Zero Tolerance
ZT 0777 -- 1000
ZT 0888 -- 250
ZT 0888Max -- 250
ZT 0600 --
ZT 0560CBCF --
ZT 0300ZDP --
ZT 0350 ZDP Composite Blade --
Also, are the Zero Tolerance 0801, 0566, and 0770 going to be full production models?
Kershaw
Kershaw TiLT -- 500 ( ? )
Kershaw Volt 3600 --
Kershaw Speedform I --
Kershaw Ti/ZDP Leek --
Kershaw CB ZDP-189 Shallot --
Kershaw S110V Shallot --
as well as other special edition, special steel editions of other models. I'm not looking for numbers on oddball colors, etc because I know there are TONS of Leeks, Blurs, Skylines, etc out there.
OK, next:
I think the release of the 0777 kinda took everyone by surprise. That might be due to the amount of time that people have been waiting for it to be released, but I still thought there would be a little forewarning. So, does anyone have the vaguest idea of when the 0600 and the 0888 are going to be released?
Also, I happened to get very fortunate and get in on a pre-order for an 0888Max. I was looking at the pictures from the Blade Show and they had three 0888Max models lying on the table. They all said 0888Max on the blade, but they were in three different finishes. One of them is a light silverish color. One is a sort of dark brownish bronze, and the last one is a flat black color. I know the production numbers are supposed to be around 250 for the 0888 and 250 for the 0888Max. Does anyone know if the decided on a single color for the 0888Max or is, of those 250, they are going to be making 2 or three different color/styles?
Second question......the 0888 is obviously a composite blade as it is very easy to see the weld line between the 14C28N ( ? ) and the S110V. On the other hand, it may be just the pictures I was looking at, but I didn't see that on the 0888Max. Is the entire blade of the 0888Max made of Micromelt Maxamet or is it a composite blade, as well?
OK, and one final question......on Kershaw and ZT composite blades, what is the blade steel on the spine. Of course, on some models it is listed, but not on the ZDP-189 Shallot, the Volt 3600, the TiLT. I had someone tell me that it was 14C28N or 8Cr13MoV on all of them, but I don't remember, although I do remember being surprised that it was the same on all of them. Anyone know?
Thanks for any info you can give!
