Loud is relative, the clicking when the knife opens and closes is no louder than any other knife, but I'd like to get back to it's silent self.

Should I get some new o-rings? If so, do I need to purchase from CRK or could I buy the same thing at the hardware store?

Thanks!

have you tried 'rotating' the rings? ... spinning one around so there is a new point of contact with the slabs.

Good idea ^^^^^ but if you really need new ones, call CRK. Do not use plumbing parts. Neoprene and rubber will not last the way the polyurethane rings will.

How long have you have had your umnun? How long have you been edc it?

Ive only had mine about 7 weeks...edc it MOST of that time.It was more

quiet when I first got it. Its gotten a little noiser....not a big deal when I use

it every.day. I think youre being a little picky.

I just rotated the irings as Im writing this response and it quieted down a

little....I did it(move the orings) just to see if it helped.

I have 2 Lg. sebs both fairly new which are a bit a louder.

As I said before dont worry about it...enjoy your umnun for what it is

a GREAT KNIFE!

it may not be the o-rings so much as it is the knife has broken in and now the blade opens much faster and hits the stop with much more force so its louder than it was when it was new and tight.

There is now a nice channel for the lockbar ball to travel (think bobsled)...The O-ring is not thick enuff to make a difference in my opinion. Anyway..I like the sound...Basically, it is telling me that it is ready for use.

Plus 1 Bill, your right on the money.:thumbup::thumbup: ;)

Has anyone taken the O-rings off all together? Other than noise reduction and some cushionning, they aren't needed, right?
