going to Louisiana this summer for training and was wondering what knife i should take with me. from the sound of it we will most likely end up in alot of swamps and muddy area's. I'm concidering my ZT 0200 but not sure how easily 154 CM rusts. any ideas?

I think as long as you keep it oiled it should be fine..
I'd consider picking up a small fixed blade though izula, Becker necke ect

None. Wait 'till training is over to start carrying your own knife.

Excellent advice! I beat up on the Corps' gear for awhile before committing to buying my own. Use theirs to learn what works and doesn't, then get your own to take care of.

i've got a RAT 3, and an Izula (basically the same) may take the rat 3 for its longer handle and i have scales on that one

I'm in Lafayette just dont' bring anything with a bead blast finish it will rust in your pocket or on your belt. Decent stainless in satin or mirror finish not real tactical I know but it won't rust on while your in the field to the point where it begins to pit. Just clean it up after your 2 week camping trip and you'll be good. Humidity will be your friend its gets thick here in the summer time. 90+ with 90%+ humidity, good times, good times.

ya humidity gets around the same here and last summer it was 100+ so maybe it won't be all bad, but the swamps sure won't help, but since you live in that area, what do you use on your knives for oil?
